• The next meeting of PROBUS

Lethbridge will be held Wednesday, May 19 at 10 a.m. by Zoom. This month’s speaker is Dr. Trevor Harrison, Professor of Sociology at the University of Lethbridge. Dr. Harrison is best known for his studies in political sociology, political economy and public policy.

Topic: The Promise and Peril of Populism. What is populism? What is its promise, its perils and its future? These are a couple of questions examined in this talk. Guests are always welcome. If you are interested, call Teresa at(403) 329-8967.

• Read On Adult Literacy and Learning at the Lethbridge Public Library! Although the library is closed to the public at this time, our summer classes are starting the first week of June and will be offered over Zoom. We also offer one-onone tutoring for adults to help with reading, writing, spelling, grammar and math skills. Tutoring can take place year-round and interested adults can register anytime . • Coulee Commentators Toastmaster Club meets Mondays at 7-8:30 p.m. online via Zoom (until further notice). • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization is launching the Drive Happiness program where volunteer drivers take seniors to their medical appointments, to pick up groceries or take them to important life activities. The Drive Happiness program is looking for volunteers to assist as drivers. Many seniors in our community are facing extreme loneliness due to the lack of accessible transportation in the community and COVID-19 has only compounded this loneliness.
