Raymond, Magrath and Stirling candidates announced for upcoming municipal election

Municipal elections will take place Oct. 18 throughout Alberta. The following are lists of candidates for ridings located within the Raymond, Magrath and Stirling area.

Raymond unofficial candidate list:

Candidates for councillor: Bryce Coppieters, Matt Evans, Joan Harker, Ken Heggie, Kelly Ann Jensen, Kelvin Kado, Kathleen Kindt, Nicholas Larsen, Randall Olson, David Reeve, Neil Sieben, Trent Tinney, Allen Tollestrup and Ann Williams.

Candidates for mayor: Jim Depew and Brian Eakett.

At the close of the nomination period Sept. 20 at 12 p.m. five people had come forward for Stirling village council.

“All five are now acclaimed for the 2021-2025 term. Council will elect the mayor and the deputy mayor from those five people,” noted the Village of Stirling.

The acclaimed councillors, listed alphabetically: Gary Bikman, Devynn Bohn, Matthew Foss, Trevor Lewington and Larry Nilsson.

For the Town of Magrath, Byrne Cook has been acclaimed mayor. Here’s the official list of candidates for councillors: Ken Baker, Gerry Baril – incumbent, Mark Bennett, Darryl Christensen, DeVar Dahl – incumbent, Fernando Morales Llan – incumbent, Diane Morton, Cynthia Ralph and Aaron Zaugg.

County of Warner and Cardston County candidates to be announced at a later date.
