CHRISTMAS HOPE - SEVERAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Christmas Hope is a collaboration of six agencies that work to ensure that lessfortunate members of our community get everything they need to feel hope and joy during the Christmas season. The Christmas Hope partnership is comprised of Interfaith Food Bank, Lethbridge Food Bank, Lethbridge Family Services Angel Tree, Volunteer Lethbridge, The Salvation Army, and My City Care Shop of Wonders. This partnership strives to make the most of resources and donations while reducing duplication of services. Volunteers assist with wrapping gifts, welcoming clients, putting together Christmas food hampers and helping at the respective member’s stores. EXTENDICARE FAIRMONT PARK SEVERAL POSITIONS

Extendicare is looking for volunteers to assist with scheduled recreation programs, events, and one-to-one visits. Their home’s volunteer services program is currently recruiting engaged, committed and community-minded people just like you. Positions available are Bingo Volunteers, Crib Volunteers, Friday music volunteer, Coffee Party helper and any events that the facility is organizing. Police checks and references are required. BGC LETHBRIDGE - TUTOR VOLUNTEERS

BGC’s mission is to provide a safe place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life. They have a variety of programs for kids and youth during and after school that provide mentorship and tutoring such as supporting students working on high school credit to achieve academic and social success. Volunteers with skills in English are required for Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm for these programs. Volunteer at the MAT Youth Drop-In by creating positive mentorship relationships with youth ages 11-14 by participating in drop-in night activities like crafts, sports, science, and Monday game nights. Volunteers must be ages 17+ and be able to commit to a longterm volunteer experience on Mondays from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 pm. Raise the Grade takes place everyday, after school from

BRANCH FINE ARTS ACADEMY – TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM DRIVERS

Branch Fine Arts Academy’s mission is to empower youth, to encourage them, and teach them valuable life skills such as cooperation, creativity, perseverance, and the importance of community through music. They are looking for Transportation Program Drivers. They are offering their students the option of transportation to their program as needed. Their primary demographic is low-income and single-parent families. Although after-school programming is free, many families have no way to get their children to the program. To help remove this barrier, they are looking for responsible drivers who would be willing to pick up specified students from a predetermined location and drop them off at the program in the afternoon. Volunteer drivers should be able to commit to driving one day per week, or at minimum once every other week, between 2:40 pm and 4:30 pm (Monday -Thursday). Volunteers must present a clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector check, a valid driver’s license and a clean driver abstract. They must also have valid insurance of $2,000,000 liability, a valid registration on the vehicle and provide three personal references. The vehicle must be proven to be in safe working order, or the volunteer will need to have the necessary qualifications/skills to drive a 15-passenger van. Must be at least 25 years old. Volunteer Lethbridge is inviting individuals and/or groups to help wrap presents during their annual Holiday Gift Wrapping fundraiser at Park Place Shopping Centre happening November 21st to December 24th, 2022 during shopping hours. This is a fun and festive opportunity for you to enjoy the season, make new community connections and support a local non-profit in your community. Orientation will be provided. The receptionist provides support by assisting with administrative activities at the front entrance of the building. This position involves working independently with direction from the supervisor. There is a level of autonomy in tasks, if desired, however, customer service comes first. Shifts are 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. with the option to stay the full day from Monday to Friday. Receptionist duties include but are not limited to greeting visitors, answering the phone, taking messages, filing as required, generating/editing documents and reports, providing administrative support to various staff and/or committees.
