Canes shutout Chiefs

On Teddy Bear Toss night in Spokane, the Lethbridge Hurricanes shutout the Chiefs 3-0 on Saturday night to conclude their six-game road trip with a 4-2 record.

The Chiefs thought they had the Teddy Bear Toss goal in the second period, but Chase Bertholet hit the post and fans thought the puck was in and flooded the ice with teddy bears anyways.

Noah Chadwick walked in from the left point and beat Chiefs goalie Cooper Michaluk at 6:58 of the second period to make the score 1-0 Canes.

Logan Wormald made the score 2-0 at 14:02 of the third period on the powerplay , as he one-timed a Tyson Laventure pass past Michaluk for his eighth goal of the year.

Brayden Edwards would seal the win with an empty netter with 39 seconds to go in the game.

The shutout marked the first of Canes goalie, Harrison Meneghin’s, career.

Meneghin saved all 36 shots he faced, while Michaluk kicked out 27 of 29 Lethbridge shots.

Lethbridge hosts the Swift Current Broncos tonight at the Enmax Centre.
